How to use Scalar Enterprises Content Management System (CMS)
Scalar Enterprises use a simple but really versatile, tried and tested, Content Management System (CMS) which can be easily implemented on the specific areas that you wish to be able to edit which simplifies incorporation and reduces development time.
One major benefit of this versatile CMS is that it can also be added retrospectively to an existing web site or extended if you wish to add further editable regions within the site pages at a later date.
It offers an easy to use, intuitive administration interface and can accommodate very comprehensive editing of text and images. It also supports a blog function.
Once we agree what regions you want to be able to edit on your website, we add the CMS code to each page to enable this and set it up and upload the modified versions to the server. We provide you with log-in details and away you go !
We have highlighted the editable regions that we have enabled in this simple example in the image below
Once logged into the CMS, click on the “Content” button at the top of the page and then select the page you want to edit from the list on the left (in this case “scalar cms demo”) and then you can see the details of each of the editable regions on the right side of the page.
Click on the region you want to edit
and the editor window opens and you can edit the content and save the changes.
You can also define image regions, as shown in this example “About” page
Click on the “image” region you want to edit
and you can go ahead and upload another image.
The CMS for the blog functions the same as for the other pages in the site. Select the Blog button at the top of the admin page and you will see the Blog editor with a list of the current articles.
You can easily edit existing articles, delete old ones you no longer want, or add new ones.
Click on “Add new post” and the editor will open and you can add you new content and save it.
