If you have a Linkedin Business page you need to read this now

attention-150Linkedin have recently (rather quietly) announced that they will be deleting the “Products & Services” tab on the Business Page. This will happen on the 14th April , 2014.

You need to take action now. If you have any products and services listed under this tab on your business page, they will be deleted and will no longer be accessible to you after the 14th April 2014 so if you don’t want to lose the contents and any related recommendations that you have, you need to make a copy. (Highlight the text on the LinkedIn page and copy and paste it into a Word document or text file and save it).

LinkedIn suggest that in future you make use of the Showcase page and Company Updates feature to promote your products and services.

“Showcase Pages allow you to extend your Company Page presence by creating a dedicated page for prominent products and services. A Showcase Page should be used for building long-term relationships with members who want to follow specific aspects of your business, and not for short-term marketing campaigns”.

LinkedIn guidance suggests that “before creating a Showcase Page, you ensure that you have a plan for maintaining an active presence” which suggests that you need to be making regular updates to your pages.
